Quang Ninh port is currently operating 5 berths with draft from 8.5 to 11.5m, which is a favorable condition to receive ships/barges with length from 80-230m with tonnage from 2,500 to 85,000 DWT.
The channel into Quang Ninh port has a length of 21 nautical miles; The smallest width is from 300-400m & the largest is 130m; The depth of the channel is from -10m to -20m.
With the above natural characteristics that has created favorable conditions for a variety of ships entering and leaving the port. Depending on each hull size, cargo handling position and tide/water schedule, the experienced technical team of Quang Ninh Port in coordination with Quang Ninh Port Authority, the pilot will make a suitable plan to guide the ship in and out of and/or to a safe and convenient anchor point.
